My friend Kat and I were walking from Power Mac Center headed towards Powerbooks Greenbelt 3 when we saw this, where Max Brenner used to be:

Hermès Comes to Manila

I hear Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) is the happy culprit – they’ve always had the reputation for making the best luxury brands in the world available to the Filipino consumer.

I once saw a documentary on the construction of the Hermès store in Venice, a behind-the-scenes look at how meticulous the French company is with the execution of their international outlets. The fact that they’ve entrusted their brand with SSI speaks volumes!

I’ve been to their flagship store on 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris - with their trademark leather goods and scarves on the main floor and their Jean Paul-Gaultier designed clothing collection and footwear on the second floor – and it really is an incomparable retail experience!

When I think of Hermès, two people come to mind – my ebullient, crazy friend, NYC-based Hannah Cruz:

Can you imagine? Manila will now have direct access to Twilly scarves, their classic neckties, Constance belts and their legendary bags! I wonder if the Birkins and Kellies will make their way here?
