Green Line Launch Show
Yesterday’s Green Line event at the Filipino Zone was a success
There was an overall good vibe around, and what I loved the most was that the Filipino Zone designers and storeowners were all there! As you guys know, Filipino Zone at Greenbelt 5 is the country’s premier address for local designer brands. I’m very proud to be a part of the GB5 roster.
These are challenging times for retail, but I really admire everyone who has chosen to take the plunge and open their dream stores anyway.
Last night’s theme, as I mentioned in my previous blog post, was everything Green – meaning, ECO-FABULOUS in my book!
The designers/brands turned up with interesting things. Do check them out at the stores this month – until September 30th, you can stock up on environmentally-friendly fashion and get a free ticket to the Kenji Williams extravaganza on October 14th with every Green Line item purchased. I believe the Stylebible team is working on posting all the looks from the show last night so you can take your pick before you head out to GB5
Some behind-the-scenes action from the Green Line show:
KT getting dolled up at my favorite Hairworks Salon just across Greenbelt 5 before the event. Seen here are Edgar Dominguez, my makeup artist (he is an expert haircutter too, he does the best bobs) and Nato, who was responsible for the funky hair that complemented my Evita Peroni headband

Me hamming it up in the store window. I almost knocked the mannequins over with my clumsiness!

The KT Store Team (Geil, Sheryl and Kelly) getting all excited as the show is starting:

A nice little ensemble from Jun Escario:

His and hers in Barba. Did you know retail veteran Vittorio was my classmate at Sir Jojie Lloren’s patternmaking class? He’s so magaling,

Our model Eri Fukuda in KT. I love how her new bob goes with our Bad Hair Day Band! The band can be worn as a belt too:

Yours truly being interviewed for UNTV:

Whose pointy shoes a.k.a. self-defense weapons are these?

The black patents were Maxine Eigenmann’s and I’m sure you guessed that the mismatched custom-made Janylins were mine
Max I’ve known since she was two years old. I still can’t forget how adorable she was in her red corduroy Oshkosh overalls! Now she is a successful commercial model and one of the stars of TV5’s Lipgloss. She’s so pretty!

Norman Crisologo and his guardian angels while lovely Astrud is away in Europe: Maja Salvador doppelganger Chia Yulo (I remarked how I grew up watching her mom Chiqui Hollman Yulo on TV), Maxine Eigenmann and of course, KT.

With my angels naman, Michelle and Cookie of Team KT:

With my ‘Sir Randy’, Randy Ortiz, responsible for Plains and Prints‘ latest goldmine collection:

I really loved these eco-chic Gaupos! :

With Eri in her third KT outfit, my favorite that night:

With Pauline Juan and Daryl Chang of Preview. I’m so proud of these two!

With fellow designers Vittorio Barba of Barba, Tito Frederick Peralta, Veejay Floresca and Michi Calica-Sotto of Bonne Bouche:

With newly-engaged Arleen Sipat of Salsatrends and now, the latest addition to Filipino Zone, resortwear stop Azucar:

This Gong-li dead ringer, Linda Ley, shopped for trenchcoats after the show, she picked another KT print though, not this one!

Tita Lulu Tan-Gan, my next-door neighbor, swung by to say hello – we’re both in pink!

and last but not least, my fairy godmother and all-time muse Tessa Prieto-Valdes rocking Religioso! Belated Happy Birthday, Tessa!

Yup, it was a good night – stay tuned for the second half of this looong post (a first) tonight, and I’ll tell you what I did last weekend!
Cheers,
Kaladkarin KT
