Luxe Stop: The Skin & Laser Clinic

Yesterday, a number of lucky ladies from the press were invited to spend an afternoon at Dr. Aivee Aguilar-Teo‘s posh new clinic.

This is what greets you when you walk into the The Skin & Laser Clinic

waiting-area

Tell me it doesn’t make you want to sit and lounge (dozens of fashion magazines–local, Singaporean, and others– are conveniently stacked under side tables to keep you occupied)?

It makes the wait that much more comfy (I hear that her clinic days of T-TH-F are exceptionally busy) PLUS it makes you want to look pretty enough to look like you belong in a sitting room like this. A good ploy for an aesthetic clinic, don’t you think?

office

No, it’s not another waiting room. This is actually her office/consultation room. This suite is so wonderfully lush that it feels more like you’re chatting with a friend than your doctor when you’re in it. Don’t you love her throne of a doctor’s chair that’s framed by the heavy drapes?

medispa

The Medi Spa has a wonderful lounge for various cosmetic/therapeutic treatments. There are also 2 private treatment rooms within the spa.

I got to try the Revage Hair Growth Treatment in this room, to help my seemingly thinning hair. It was the coolest thing! It also helped that the chaise they sat me in looked out the large picture window to the garden across. So relaxing!

First, my super nice and informative therapist Rovie, used a gun to inject Meso Hair serum along the surface area where I felt my hair was thinning the most. Needle-phobes needn’t fear. You don’t feel any punctures since it really only grazes the surface and you don’t see any needles either. It pretty much resembles the gun they use to attache price stickers to items in the grocery.

Next, I moved one chaise down to sit beneath what looked like a space age version of a salon hair steamer (the kind they use for hot oil treatments). Rovie explained that the Revage laser uses low laser light therapy (LLT) to stimulate hair follicles and promote regrowth. Since it’s a cold laser, you don’t even feel it as it does its work.

I did a bit of research and found this informative video online

Rovie said that a number of their clients for this service are men whose hairlines are receding. (A great gift option for your hubbies, girls!)

Aivee’s husband, Dr. Z Teo, was in town that day (he heads the power couple’s clinic/practice at the Paragon Medical Suites in Singapore) and he personally did the filler injections of the women who had signed up for it that day. “He’s the best at doing fillers,” remarked Aivee, “since he trains people to do it.”

Those of you bothered by expression lines or wanting a fuller pout may want to take advantage of this service.

While I was sitting in that plush chair at The Skin & Laser Clinic, I couldn’t help but think, “I could get used to this!”
