Bras and bandeaus were getting major airtime on the Spring-Summer 2010 runways (see Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Issey Miyake, and Dolce & Gabbana) albeit behind a veil of tastefully spun mesh. It harks back to the ’80s when girls who had figures worth flaunting all wore the mesh top + black bra combo with tight jeans–not exactly a trend I thought we’d be revisiting anytime soon.
However, if you wear it like Georgina Wilson

From Preview's October 2009 issue.
Then it looks all street and cool.

Fans of The Stam will be pleased to know that shopping for shoes at Aldo this summer will involve seeing her mug in the store. The super stars in the brand’s summer campaign, posing all pin-up and playful for what looks like the lens of Jeurgen Teller (correct me if I presume wrong).

Ever since I saw this photo of
Kate Moss I fell in love with the color combo.

It looks so clean and sophisticated. It’s a great way to do a nude or monochromatic palette without having to revert to an all black, all white, or all beige outfit. It also has a very urban feel to it, which I like.

This is what to expect from the go-to preppy accessory brand this summer.
My personal favorite is a powder gray Pashmy. It’s made of a fleece material (this year’s summer sport answer to last year’s vivid neoprene) that reminds me of a cozy sweat suit. It’s light, neutral, and less delicate in comparison to leather.

According to http://www.vogue.co.uk/, Vivienne Westwood designed a capsule collection of wallpaper designs for Cole & Sons, an English company that’s been manufacturing hand-printed wallpaper since 1873. (Don’t you love how the English craftsmen have such a rich heritage?)

This is a million times better than the ad of Pops for Mikaela. Spotted this preview of Alexander McQueen’s Spring-Summer 2010 ad campaign on redcarpet-fashionawards.com.

The ad is as out of this world as the collection itself! A jumpsuit-clad Raquel Zimmermann fearlessly posed with 30 snakes. (I wonder when they’ll have that challenge on Top Model. Haha!) And who better to shoot it than Nick Knight, probably today’s king of surreal concept photography.

I wrote a post last December (click here to view it) about how a number of Philippine fashion’s finest were nominated in Tongue in Chic’s Annual Style Awards for 2009. Well, the winners have been announced and I’m super proud to say that the PH garnered some of the top readers’ choice spots.
Preview magazine‘s own Daryl Chang (DC) (Fashion Editor)

and Liz Uy (Fashion Editor-at-Large)

won first and third place respectively in the Super Stylista category.
DC‘s brother Andre Chang

and blogger/stylist/photographer Jujiin Samonte (catch Exhibit No. One on Friday)

got the top spots for Style Maestro.
Third placer Dennis Robles is also pinoy (we seem to have very stylish men here)

and he kind of looks like model Brent Javier in these photos.
Rosanna Ocampo bagged second place as the Young Designer to Watch in 2010;

while Little Miss Dress Up‘s Rosanna Aranaz and Hannah Choa-Yu kept their culte status, winning second place for the best blog.

Doc Marlon Pecjo and BJ Pascual won in the Fashion Photographer category too!

Congratulations everyone
Isha.
