Rumor Mill: Georgina Wilson for Channel V

Friday, January 29th, 2010

I heard it first on Twitter (add us up: stylebibleph). Her tight circle of beautiful people were congratulating her on being the newest name in Channel V‘s roster of VJs.

14_1262753194010610I also ran into Liz Uy at The Reserve last night, who happens to be one of Ms. Wilson’s BFFs, and she confirmed that the leggy Bench model did get the gig. Fans will be pleased to know that they’ll be seeing her soon on the telly.

Congratulations from Style Bible!

The Grapevine: New Stores Next Year

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

A little bird told me that we might be seeing these shops in our malls by next year.

Forever-21

The source of all things trendy and cheap, Forever 21.  I foresee tweens and up looking forward to this. I wonder how they’ll work it out at the trade licensing office since there’s already an existing clothing chain using the same name.

Love the mixy matchiness of it all.

I can change as much as five times before deciding on what to wear. Do you?

Alexander Wang and Vena Cava at GAP

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Got this in the mail today:

Hi Isha!

We have just released Gap’s exclusive CFDA/Vogue Design Editions apparel in our local stores – this year, Gap has teamed up with designers Vena Cava and Alexander Wang to rework the classic khaki. Items will be available in select stores for a limited time only. We hope to see you soon!

Good thing Eunice and I are lunching in Shang today. Will be swinging by the store to have a look. The collection is available at Gap in Bonifacio High Street, Shangri-La Plaza, Mall of Asia, and Glorietta.

Hurry, hurry!

Little Miss Dress Up Goes International

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Looks like Style Bible’s winning wardrobe blogger is getting more worldwide (web) attention. Got the link to this article from Rosanna Aranaz‘ proud big sister, designer Amina Aranaz-Alunan.

Glamour.com‘s Tracey Lomrantz, who writes the webzine’s style blog Slaves to Fashion, featured Rosanna together with two other wardrobe bloggers to illustrate the how-tos of pattern-mixing. Based on the comment tally, reader’s like her style best. Click here to see the article.

Congratulations Little Miss Dress Up!

Bandage at its Best

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Rumor has it, bandage dresses actually whittle your figure into shape instead of showing off every bulge as we all fear. One thing’s for sure, they’re undeniably sexy.

It’s probably why both Ornusa Cadness (photo taken at the Prive Series featuring Charina Sarte) and Phoemela Barranda (photo from the opening of Club LAX) both got their hands on Charina Sarte‘s chocolate and black banded number.

Look at how amazing Vina Morales looks in this little black bandage dress by Jun Escario. To think she had just given birth three weeks before this photo was taken.

Of course nothing beats the designs of the master himself. Look who I’ve spotted wearing Herve Leger.

Ok maybe you need to be as fat-free as Leica Carpo to pull this off.

Because of this gorgeous, strapless wonder, Wendy Puyat won Style Star and was featured on Preview magazine’s Best-Dressed page.

Divine Lee wore an Herve Leger to the Chinese New Year party at Embassy Superclub.

While it was too crowded to get a full-body photo of her, this is what the dress looked like. (Photo from net-a-porter.com.)

Lastly, I love Charina Sarte‘s indigo and white Herve Leger. It’s totally bombshell but still sophisticated.

Unfortunately, I haven’t really found anything in the ready-to-wear racks but you can always have it custom-made.

Spotted this in the forums though:

Fashion_md says she found this navy and gray dress in SM. What a steal! I think I’m going to mozy on over and have a look myself.

Have you found any bandage dresses? Let me know :)

Jenni Needs Peeps

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Was chatting with Jenni Epperson for a bit yesterday at the launch of Glam Rock watches, and she told me about her fun little project.

www.jenniepperson.com

Last April 26, she made a post on her site about available slots for summer on-the-job trainees. The response was so overwhelming (300 applied!) that she thought she’d spin it into something a little more exciting–Stylista style.

She and her newly promoted style associate (from her original post as “Toy Assistant,” in Jenni’s words) Nina Estacio are cooking up challenges. Think sorting through stacks of decades worth of Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, and the like to find that one article that Jenni needs.

Of course, all the nail-biting and outfit-rumpling effort will be rewarded with equally nice things like cozy lunches at Bizu or the chance to meet some of Jenni’s celebrity clients like KC Concepcion.

Tune in to her site for regular updates, or just to check out the comic situational photos she plans to post.

Cheers!

Isha.

P.S.

Thanks mucho for the lipstick pen, Jenni! Really love it :)

Isn’t it adorable?

Today I Love: Igor + Andre

Friday, April 17th, 2009

If I was vain enough to comission a portrait of myself today, I’d love to ask Danny Roberts of Igor + Andre to paint one. Even his photos are so soft and so pretty (reminded me a bit of the texture Sophia Coppola used in Virgin Suicides).

He has a special section in his site called the Blogger Portrait Series. He paints the characters behind different blogs he follows. It’s very cool.

This is actually where I discovered Coco Rocha’s blog.

He uploaded this painting of Bryan Boy just the other day…

…and one of Jane Aldridge too.

I especially like how he drew Rumi of Fashion Toast, maybe also because I really like her style. It’s very tough and raw but she somehow still looks strangely feminine. I like the mish mash of high-low finds that make up her wardrobe. She has an amazing way of styling herself too. Did you know that Esteban Cortazar invited her to watch the Ungaro Fall ’09 show in Paris and when she went to his office, everyone there referred to her as “the girl in the mood board.”

Anyhow, have a looksee at Igor +Andre. His character sketches are just so beautiful.
