Cary Santiago’s Laser-Cut Gowns on Barbie

I think it’s pretty much a general consensus that Cary Santiago‘s laser-cut gowns are simply breathtaking. So one can only expect beautiful miniatures from the couturier.

Cary brought his Barbies for the Ballet Philippines auction with him last Saturday at the National Museum, as he was one of the guest speakers for the Preview + Slim’s fashion lecture on Couture Construction and Conservation.

James Reyes’ Black Swan Barbies

James Reyes is also among the 40 or so designers participating in the fundraiser for Ballet Philippines, which is being spearheaded by Margie Moran-Floirendo. I asked James to tell me about his inspiration for this collection and here is what he told me:

The Nutcracker and Karl Lagerfeld’s Brilliant Tutu

I caught the matinee of Ballet Philippines’The Nutcracker” last Saturday (read more about it on spot.ph). I was quite excited as it’s one of my favorite ballets, Swan Lake and Giselle notwithstanding, and it’s been a while since I’ve watched one of the classics staged.
