My NYC Escape!

HI! Firstly congratulations on STYLEBIBLE! It’s very addicting!!! LOL!!! It’s now part of my morning ritual! As they say in fashion lingo EYELAHVET!

Speaking of rituals, I did my annual pilgrimage to New York this year after my show! I was so lucky because I got to go at the tail end of fashion week! I was not able to see any of the shows but I did feel the energy of fashion!

I loved my room! It was so pristine and sublime!

I stayed with Tina & Rico Ocampo! I love those two as they are so kind and super talented!

I forgot what this breakfast place is but it was great! It serves bread of all kinds!

I was there for only 3 days and boy do they work hard!

The Assouline bookstore at the Plaza! It just opened! I love books & this was like me in heaven!

Check out Tina’s pants! I kid you not we were stopped 8 times as people kept on asking her about her pants! It’s Balenciaga ! EYELAHVET!

I had a great time! I will be sending you more photos!

The day before the show we had a rehearsal, it is no joke to mobilize my entire team to a dance hall that can fit my stage. We searched high and low for a space that would be suitable (budget wise, space wise, geographic location). We found one and the the owner was so sweet! I loved her puppy called Najinsky.

My team brought everything to her, from the clothes to the shoes, wigs and accessories.

We even brought the dressers to practice on how to dress up the models. Its a good thing as we got to fix certain mistakes and adjust accordingly.

It is really vital that we do this exercise as we cannot afford any slip ups!

Creative Minds Creative Souls!

A lot of work goes in a Fashion show, I am very lucky that I have a wonderful team that works with me to give everyone what I call a true experience! I have been with these “GHELS” as Direk Robby says it, for the past 5 days and I have gotten really inspired and moved by their talents and generosity. I want everyone to know that they are really a special lot! Thank you very much!

My Big Brothers Burger!

Did you know that I will be endorsing the designer burgers for Brothers Burger? Well I am and it’s really good!

Last Thursday I went and met the “brothers” and tasted their amazing offerings.

First came out a fantastic half pound burger with mushrooms and caramelized onions over generous portions of brie cheese with the signature bread! It was earthy and really mind blowing. I had to share this with Nix.

Then came the tropical style burger with bacon cheese and a grilled pineapple. This had a grilled half pound burger with a teriyaki glaze. One word, YUMMY! Nix hates pineapples but yet he lapped it all up. A true testament to its goodness.

Finally, we had a burger with a Tex-Mex flavor of BBQ sauce and crunchy onions. This will be a sure-fire hit to the boys who love burgers! MEANING ME! LOL! All in all in was a fantastic experience! I invite everyone to partake and enjoy!

Hey! I am the 4th BIg Brothers Burger! LOL! Love you guys!

In the Mood for Mandy!

I fitted Mandy in the dress that I wanted her to wear in my Gala and this is it! I was inspired to make her something in the lines of the movie “In the mood for love”, but I wanted it to be more modern. I used my vintage Obi material. When the door of my fitting room opened, I teared as she looked so good! OMG! I am so LUCKY! She looks like a vintage shanghai poster girl but with a modern twist!

B&B in the House!

I was so happy when Bryanboy (Yambao) accepted my invitation to watch my gala. Naturally I wanted to dress him up. I am actually a secret fan of his, and his blog! I am very proud of him and what he has done. He is also super FIERCE! He had this idea in mind and brought to my studio this beaded Jacket that I responded well to. I immediately sketched and played dress up! SOOOOOO CHIC! I am really happy that he is coming!

1. For the appetizer:

The chef presented (2) options ; I’ve also informed him of our initial agreement where in the rice cake would be on the opposite end of the balsamic brush he said that we could go ahead and do that but wished to present you with this anyway

2 For the main course :

He used a fresh pumpkin and said that they could either have it as a pumpkin chip on that day or if you want he could use a thicker slice and cook it and the pumpkin could also be inverted if you prefer that.

3. For the Dessert :

Oh MANDY!

Hi! How are you? OMG! The Sept PREVIEW is out and I am jumping up and down with joy! It was a bit overwhelming!

Anyway! Now that the clothes of the show are done and all we really need to do is style, I have time to concentrate on dressing up my friends! Mandy is one lady that really inspires me. We got close two or three years ago as we are Gym buddies and we exercise together (it shows more on her than on me LOL!).

LOVE the way it drapes!

I will be dressing her up for the Gala and we were discussing what dress to do for her. I always see Mandy in non-colored dresses and always solid. I persuaded her to do a pattern for the Benefit. I have been saving this magical vintage Brocade for a while now and thinking if I should make her something out of it?

I am not sure but the fabric really drapes well! I did a muslin out of what I had in mind (it is in black). I love the way this looks on her and maybe this is the direction we are going? We shall see? LOL!
