Valentina!
My heading was not a typo error! There is a buzz in NYC about this fashion designer called Valentina! My dear friend PJ Pascual just emailed me some photos from her exhibition at the New York city museum. Her whole name is Valentina Nicholaevna Sanina Schlee (Now that is a mouthful! Kawawa naman siya in grade school no? I mean, you had to write your whole name! LOL!) She is of Russian heritage and was a huge design sensation in the late ’20s and early ’30s. She had a stellar clientele – the likes of Greta Garbo, Lyn Fontanne, Gloria Swanson and Katharine Hepburn. These women were the superstars of that era!

Together with PJ is Mr. Mark Walsh, the Museum curator for the Valentina show!
Valentina’s style reminds me of Vionet with her bias cutting technique with the sultry lines of Madame Gres. I wish I was there in the exhibit, but I got her book on Amazon and I am quite anxious to see it. Thank you PJ for putting us all on the loop!
HUGS!
