I am currently obsessing about KITSCHY RINGS! It’s the perfect antidote to those days that seem BLAH & YUCKY. When it comes to my own personal jewelry, I am very much of a minimalist, but when it comes to women, I love the idea of collecting. I think I will be stocking up on these funny rings in my store soon. I just need to find them! LOL!

I just love the material SHAGREEN! Even the name itself lends itself to images of drama and chicness! Shagreen has this really beautiful texture and sheen that makes it so desirable. Well! I have the season’s absolute must-have! These are the SHAGREEN CUFFS! OMG! I just found these cuffs and they are unreal! It just got delivered to my store The House of Laurel, and I only have a few pieces of these amazing cuffs! You won’t believe the price when you flip the tag! LOL! Come on over! You will be thrilled!

There are certain professions that REALLY REALLY INSPIRE me! On the top of the list are dancers! I just am in awe of their movements and the way that they can tell a full story just by moving. One of the best shows on TV now is “So you think you can dance!“ I am totally addicted to the show! I chanced upon this video and I wanted to share it with all of you because it really moved me to tears. The gamut of emotions that runs through this piece is exactly what I aim for as an artist. Honesty, Authenticity, Truth, Relevance and Integrity, all of which are captured by these amazing dancers! Check it out and feel their art!

There is this movie that I really really want to see! It’s called KIMMY DORA! From the trailer alone, I was left in stitches! I am a HUGE, as in, LARGER THAN LIFE FAN of Ms. Eugene Domingo. I think she is one of the most talented individuals in the Philippine entertainment landscape. I have seen her do comedy, drama and even in plays (Do not ask me when! I will reveal my age!)
Anyway….I first saw the trailer of KIMMY DORA in Cinemalaya and I was caught by the UGE craze! (Uge is what she is called by close friends! NAKS!) I just have to share this with you all because I am now TEXT mates with her! I am so majorly thrilled! TEE HEE! My cousin Franco introduced me to her, and now Eugene and I are text mates!
This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie.... "I am just a girl floating in front of a boy asking him to LLLLove her!" That is going to be a classic!
Do all yourselves a FAVOR …GO & WATCH KIMMY DORA! I know it’s going to be a GIGANTIC SUCCESS…That is my fearless forecast! See you at the movies!

I always get so excited when I meet young artisans. It’s like I want to share their talents to the world! From my recent trip to Bangkok, I discovered this brilliant accessories designer. They are actually a design team and they are….I need to take a deep breath… SIRIKARN JIRAJBHASKORNKUL & SUPOT SWUNNASING! Whew! LOL! Their line is called SAPRANG. This season’s collection is very romantic, but it has a real edge to it. The collection reminds me of fairy jewelry.
I brought a couple of limited pieces home to share with all of you! Please come visit the House of Laurel (Please call 028955688 loc. 808 and look for Cara or Lay for more information.) You must try them on! You will be pleasantly surprised to find out how really affordable the line is. My favorite piece is the petal cocktail ring, I love the way it moves as you gesture!

The best store windows in the entire Philippine Archipelago belong to the stores of Ricky Toledo & Chito Vijandre! They have the most intelligent and fabulous show windows! They truly bring the JOY to what we call window shopping! Every time I pass their stores AC+632 and Firma, my heart just bursts with delight!
Just this weekend, I was passing by their store in Greenbelt 5 and once more, my heart skipped a beat. Adorning the windows were the works of French furniture designer Delphine Groult. I first heard of her through my friend Pauline Juan, who told me to look for her when I went to Cebu. I did not find her, but I was so happy to finally see her work in AC+632! I love her pieces! They are the type of pieces that would give any room that decided punch of interest, much like a fantastic pair of shoes or a bright scarf the spruces up any outfit! That is how her items react to me! NOTE to self: the minute that I start on my new flat, I will need a Delphine Groult piece! Get yourselves to AC+632 now and see for yourselves!
Delphine is based in Cebu and she is really creating a huge following worldwide!

After brunch, the girls and I decided to do some retail therapy. Since we were just skipping distance to Greenbelt 5, we headed out there, started out at Balenciaga for a look see, then proceeded to Bleached Catastrophe, which always looks amazing and appetizing. The selection there is such a winner that I always walk in and take a peek. Then we went to the Eastpak store because we all wanted to check out the Raf Simons bags! I swear the sales staff there are winners! They were so CHIKA! It took all our will power to leave without buying anything! I love their parting note- slipping me a 20% discount…”Sir…in case hindi ka makatulog sa kakaisip ng bag na ito!” LOL! ILAHVET!
The true winner for me is Rhett Eala‘s latest success strory “COLLEZIONE C2“! In case you’re reading this and you’re not in Manila, Rhett is responsible for the very famous Philippine Map shirt! I mean everyone in the land must have one of his shirts! They practically land the newspaper cover daily because all the politicos and super famous and not so famous wear it! It’s such a genius concept! While the other stores beside him were like empty, his store in Greenbelt was like jampacked! We all ended buying a few of his latest designs, as it was all so well made and really wearable!
I took some photos and from the corner of my eye, I could see my dear friend Rhett smiling from ear to ear! Congratulations Rhett! This is a true winner! BRAVO!
C2 has like 15 branches all over the Philippines!

There is nothing I love more than Sunday Brunch! Recently, we had brunch at M Cafe and we were very surprised at how large the selection has grown! I mean the value you get for eating there really is worth every Peso. There were winners like the oysters, smoked salmon, beef tapa and the fantastic cheese selection, but there were losers like the very sad dim sum and the super oily Pad Thai. However, in general, the brunch buffet works for me! We had a really fantastic Sunday filled with laughter and a whole lot of retail therapy!
