A Grown-up Prom!
I recently was invited to a beautiful ball and I wanted the share with all of you how lovely everybody looked. I really look forward to this annual event because everyone really dresses up and literally have a ball. In many ways, it’s like a grown up PROM. LOL!
Prom has always been special to me, because this is how I really started as a designer. My classmates would come to me and ask me to design their dresses and I would tear the sheets out of my notebooks and draw their gowns. This spirit is what I cherish and try to capture up to this day. The ball was held at the super chic Makati Shangri-la hotel! I had a really great time that evening. What is not to love? There were so many beautiful people dressed so elegantly and the bubbles just kept on coming! LOL! Enjoy the photos!

The minute I arrived for cocktails, I spotted the ILONGO contingent in full force! I consider them my family in the south! BIG HUGS all around!

Bumped into my fantastic designer friend Dennis Lustico here with Nix.

Gorgeous hot-couple du-jour Mr and Mrs. Mathay. A big trend that evening was full on skirts and mega trains.

Had to say hi to FRANCES LIM! I will never ever forget her now! ( wink-wink) Here she is wearing a beautiful vintage SLIMS original! I love the way the gown is draped, so very modern!

Robby Carmona was present too! He was wearing a really cool Tuxedo by Jerome Lorico. Note to self, I want to have one made by this young designer! Need to get a new tux.

The chic Liza Ilarde was there in an Aubergine Satin gown by Rhett Eala accentuated with her husband's tie!

My favorite couple was there and looking smashing! Joanna and Raul Francisco! BIG HUGS TO YOU TWO!

White dinner jackets were another trend that evening! Hmmm...This got me thinking? Should I have one made? I loved how vintage and retro it all looks! I got to try one on first to really figure it out.

Beautiful women galore! Stephanie Zubiri and Alex Escat with charming eye candies in tow! LOL!

I had to get a photo with National Artist Arturo Luz, he is a real inspiration to me.

My Ate Joanne Zapanta-Andrade was there. Her son is my godchild and she whispered to me that he designed her gown that evening! I LOVE THAT!

Super FEIRCE women were present that evening! Audrey Chiu in a FABULOUS Vintage VALENTINO and Nanette Po wearing a gorgeous Roland Mouret gown! I love this designer and I was so happy to see him worn in Manila.

Ali and Lutz Kunack was there, the minute I spot this couple they automatically bring the chic level up in the room by 98 degrees! I love their style! SO CHIC! Ali was wearing a gown by my very talented friend Jun Escario! Bravo JUN!

My darling Pia Asistio was loving her curves in a Narciso Rodriguez! This is how an hour glass figure is done ladies! TAKE NOTICE!

AHHH....Effortless Style! I love this couple, I pray that in my next life I can be one of them! LOL! Mr and Mrs. Aaron Chiu. I told you that white dinner jackets were like rocking it!

Celine Lopez in what she calls a reverse mermaid gown by Dennis Lustico!

It's all about glamour couples that evening! My dear friends and fave neighbors Leo and Marielle Po! Can I just say that they looked AMAZING! LOL! Shhh...I did his tux and her Amethyst draped gown! LOVE YOU GUYS!

How do you say DIVINE LEE? In a Pepito Albert! Loving the color and the shape of the gown! She was also wearing Pepito's beautiful necklace!

Divine's date was cool guy Eric Matic! ROCKING my modern hybrid of a suit/tux!

I love this photo! BFF'S! Audrey and Pia! I feel like blowing it up and sending them a copy! They look so amazing!

TIm Yap and one of his dates for the evening the Ms. Joey Mead! I made her gown by the way! Tee-hee! The gown is inspired by bondage but I wanted it to have a very romantic slant to it so I used 4 different kinds of vintage lace.

The flowers on the tables were so beautiful! The theme this year was Pink for life!

This is Pepito Albert, he hates me and my camera because he says I over expose him in my blog! I kept on teasing him the whole night by taking a ton pictures! I adore Pepito and you only really tease he people you actually like!

I was seated right beside Dr. Vicky Bello I felt so privileged to sit beside her and ask her advice on health and beauty.

Joey Mead channeling her inner lady, strikes a pose!

Here I am with my glitter suit! LOL! With Joey Mead.

The ballroom was awash in pink light!

Miss Anne Curtis! The minute this young lady walked into the ball room all eyes were affixed on her! My sister Gela did her make up. I was like..OMG! She really is the belle of the ball! It's like...we found our PROM QUEEN!

My darling friend Reggie Barrientos is all about elegant ease, here she is wearing a deep turquoise chiffon halter dress by me....with a Joyce Makitalo necklace filled with healing stones!

Ms. Ruffa Gutierez was in what I call A BALL GOWN! Only she could have pulled this one off! Designed by Dubai based designer Michael Cinco. The gown actually was incredibly light despite its massive size! The ruby crystals on the bodice were beautiful.

I love stealing shots of women at ease. Audrey Chiu looking very calm and collected! I mean this is what STYLE is all about!

Anne just takes my breath away!

My girls! It just takes my breath away when my gowns come alive!

TIim Yap is one lucky guy! I mean here he is with his two dates!

MY personal style ICON! Tina Maristela-Ocampo. Take note people this is how its done! Wearing VIntage Gucci and her own amazing jewelry. LOVE YOU TINA!

The gang is all here! Nix with Mia Boromeo and Junie Rodrieguez.

Dennis Valdes and Nix flash their Tuxedos courtesy of moi! LOL!

Here i am dancing with Ruffa in her BALL GOWN! It was fun twirling her around, It was like she was spinning on a cloud.

Tessa in her Floral Peacock gown dancing away with Divine! The whole time I was like thinking this is like the adult version of the PROM talaga!
HUGS!
