The Corner Tree Cafe!
I am the farthest thing from being a vegetarian. I just love food in all forms too much to exclude any food group from my diet! This however does and will not stop me from enjoying vegetarian cuisine.
I often feel really bad for my vegetarian friends because eating out in Manila is really limited, you have to be extremely creative in order for you to sustain and commit to that lifestyle. So when my friend Tessa Valdes who is an off and on again vegan told me to join her for lunch at the Corner Tree Cafe, I said absolutely!
If you blink you might miss the sign. Its very near Aristocrat on Jupiter st. in Makati.

The restaurant is literally a hole in the wall filled with so much warmth and character that the minute you walk in you feel like someone is giving you a hug!

The food was incredibly good and satisfying filled with so much flavor. I particularly loved the Kare-Kare with vegan bagoong! This was made from black beans otherwise known as tausi. It was really yummy! My next favorite was the broccoli casserole. This was healthy food but not diet food! So consider what you order as some of them can be loaded with calories. Healthy calories at that! LOL!

The egg salad sandwich was a winner too!
I guess the kare-kare was so good that before I was able to take a photo, it was consumed! LOL! We also ordered a meatless meatloaf! LOL! It was really good too!
The great thing about this place was that the waiters were so well informed, I appreciated the fact that they knew the answers to all my questions. That is a good sign.
All in all, I loved the restaurant and cannot wait to go back! If you’re VEGETARIAN this is should be your hang out, if your not just come over and try out the great food!

Thank you , I love to read about other vegetarians as it gives me the strength to continue. I have about a thousand vegetarian feeds in my google reader, but another can’t hurt!! I did manage to find a good lentil recipes here, but I’ll be sure to try yours too. Thanks!
