BISTECCA

Monday, May 31st, 2010

I have been really excited to try out this new restaurant in my neighborhood called BISTECCA. I would pass by it daily as it geared up to its opening. It opened probably 3 weeks ago and I wanted to try it out. I called on my fave foodie partners Leo and Marielle Po and we made plans to have a MEAT FEST! LOL!

JIL SANDER+NAVY

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Jil Sander is the brand that defined MINIMALISM. The whole ethos of Jil Sander is all about intelligent design. However, the prices are quite staggering and sadly only the very rich or the very lucky ever get the chance to wear it. This, however, might be changing soon! I was surfing the web and found out that Jil Sander just launched a secondary line called NAVY. The line is 40% cheaper than the main line but it has lost none of its intelligent edge.

There was no hint of navy in the collection. There were a lot of colors though, which is quite unusual for Jil Sander as they always come in a neutral palette.

PFW 2010!

Friday, May 28th, 2010
I have not been able to go to the Philippine Fashion Week shows for what seems like forever! I have been so busy with work and all that, I just cant seem to find the time! I wanted this to change as I would really like to support my industry more and to be there for my Project Runway kids who are all showing at PFW! The energy of the shows were AMAZING! So many young people interested in fashion and this made me so happy!

BABY COUTURE!

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I LOVE BABIES! I have not met a baby I did not like. LOL!  It has been my promise to all my brides that I gift them with a baptismal gown of their first born.  It is like a “panata” of sorts. I feel so honored when my brides ask me to do it.  One of my most recent ‘BABY COUTURE” projects was for the son of Amanda Griffin-Jacob and David Jacob.

The JACOBS! What a really beautiful family!

NEW ART from TOM EPPERSON!

Friday, May 28th, 2010
A few weeks ago I was invited to the photo exhibit of Tom Epperson by his beautiful wife  Jenni!  I was so blown away by the images that I had to have one of his photos for myself!  I wanted a few other things but since I was a bit late almost everything was already sold out!  Then I saw this dyptich of an image that reminded me of sliced agate or streaky bacon!  LOL!  Both of which I absolutely LOVE!

RAJITO TURNS 4!

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Four years ago my sister started RAJITO!  ( It is the name I was called as a child when I was being naught.  Which was very often. LOL!)  It is her baby and her brainchild.  It is also one of our top sellers in our store!  I cannot believe that the brand is turning 4!  How fast time flies!

SHOPPING HEAVEN!

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

I think shopping is a sport in Korea!  There are a gazillion stores and they are all full of shoppers!  LOL!  I must tell you that it is not the cheapest place to go shopping but the quality of the merchandise is really top-notch!  Even in the market you can see that the sewing and the fabric is really good.

One area that we explored was teh Apgujeong/Cheongdam-Dong.  This is like their Madison Avenue or Rodeo Drive.  All the high end stores and boutiques are here!  Name the brand and they have it!  Even Philip Lim has a building!  Each major brand has a free standing building!  OMG!  You need a car for the whole trip because everything is far apart.
After The Galleria I moved on to Rodeo st. here they have more tiny stores and boutiques and where they have a multitude of coffee shops.  Choose one and just sit back and do as I do, take a look at the people and see what they all are wearing.  In this part of Seoul you will not be disappointed as they are all so well-dressed!
When in Seoul, do drop by here! There is a whole lot of good fashion going on in KOREA!When in Seoul, do drop by here! There is a whole lot of good fashion going on in KOREA!
