I have this fascination now with Charice.  Ever since she started rising to fame I have been drawn to her and her story.  I never really had the opportunity to watch her live in concert and when I heard that she was going to have a concert in Manila I had to find a way and watch her.  I was so blessed and lucky that my friend Kevin Tan got me the best seats in the house in the Eastwood mall!  I mean I was literally at arms length with Charice.

I invited my niece Stephie who is a HUGE Charice fan!  I mean she watches the video Pyramid at least twice day!  LOL!  Also in tow were Nix and our dear Friend Dong Ronquillo who were all so excited and curious as to how we would be experiencing this amazing talent!  A few days before the concert, Nix found Charice’s audition video for GLEE online.  I had to watch it twice because the small hairs on my back were all standing by the time she hit the chorus of her song HALO!   I thought to myself!  OMG!  This young girl will probably be the biggest Filipino Singer in History!

I got to Eastwood  in perfect time and there were masses of people already there, I had a huge sigh of relief because the Eastwood staff were so efficient!  Big thanks to Teffel Pesigan!  She was brilliant!

Seated beside me were the super fabulous Vicky Bello and the cutest Hayden Kno. I was introduced to the US manager of Charice too! The concert started with a slight hiccup because Charice’s crystal mike did not want to work.  I blame it on the rain, as there was quite a downfall that evening.  Regardless of this, Charice was STELLAR!  I mean, she sounded exactly the way she sounds on her video and on the radio!  Her voice was STUNNING!   The range, the tone, the richness was so beautiful that I felt so privileged to be able to experience her gift live!  I also love her down to earth personality. I mean, she was so REAL!     She sang around 6 or 7 songs that night and for me, everything was perfect!  I was so lucky that Vicky Belo invited me to go backstage.   Stephie and I had our photos taken with Charice and we talked a bit about her upcoming concert in October in Manila with David Foster!  I offered to dress her up for that and I hope that she says yes!

The opening act was this cool cute guy. His name is Cris Caizer? Not sure on the spellng, he was pretty soulful and really promising.

Then Charice came out!

She was too cute! More like a 12 year old rather than a young lady of 18.

I took a lot of photos but I had to stop each time she would hit those impossible notes.

I left the concert feeling so positive and proud for Charice.  She is really a rare gem and a true inspiration to all of us Filipinos!  After the concert I became a FAN!   MABUHAY KA CHARICE!  Maraming maraming salamat sa ‘yo!
