We all stayed at the well appointed Grand Hyatt Ararat. I really liked the impressive interiors of the lobby and the open style elevator but got a bit disappointed in my room. It was just ok and failed to give me that “WOW’ factor I expect when I stay at the other Grand Hyatts before. It felt quite spartan and basic. Nonetheless, I was not going to complain. I was just glad that we were all safe and sound.

Loving our Rimowas! All of us were traveling with this! Everything was perfect except for Nix's as the handle broke! Must be a factory defect! Hope they replace it! Paging RIMOWA! Please replace Nix's luggage! Pretty please!
Our room! It reminds me of a basic hotel in HK. Hmph!
The bathroom! Chuvaness would not like it!
Nix and I immediately toured the hotel and decided to visit the bar which had great views of the Moscow skyline. We gingerly walked outside and enjoyed more of the snow action and took photos and called it a night.
The impressive open elevator structure.

Night views of Moscow.
Nix and I! So excited to be here.
More views of the lobby.
The next day, we went back to the Philippine embassy to pick up our guide to go to the Smilova market. This is where everyone should go shopping! Leave it to the Pinoys to find the best deals in Moscow. Russia is SUPER expensive! My advise is to hold on the shopping and just buy the Russian arts and crafts, the rest can be bought somewhere else around the world at a third of the price. Will be blogging about the market in my next entry!
The view outside my window! Very grey! Very Moscow!
To the Philippine Embassy.
We were in the single digits! BRRRR!!!!!

Getting our tickets.
The metro interiors in Russia is quite beautiful.
Malu, Rosan and Nix experiencing the deepest metro system we have ever been in. The escalator alone took more than 9 minutes from start to finish.
Muscovites in the Metro.
Tessa already in Moscow mode! I have seen the world with my friend Tessa and each time we visit a country she imbibes the culture and the fashion.
