First Crown Billboard in the Philippines!!!!

Leave it to Philippine ingenuity to come up with a first of its kind in the world! I remember being a kid and playing with  COKE crowns ( How sosi? LOL! Tansans lang yan eh!) and making my own toys with the tansans  like tambourines, cars, etc.
.
So when Keren sent me images of the world’s first billboard using discarded tansans, I was so thrilled!  Bravo Coke for always leading the pack in terms of innovative marketing techniques!  I am in awe of you guys! CONGRATULATIONS!

The best Vietnamese meal in Australia!

I have always thought that the best meals I have ever had were those that were cooked at home.  There is something so special about a dinner that was lovingly prepared by dear friends and loved ones.  My friend Anhtai is Vietnamese and when I asked him where the best Vietnamese restaurant in Sydney was, he was a bit tentative.
.

Anhtai and Matt live in this really lovely area in Sydney that is both so lusciously green and tranquil. Check out some of the apartments in their area. So chic!

The Fraiser Place Sydney

After the Hunter Valley visit, we went back to the city and stayed at the Fraiser Place.  We were lucky enough to get the top most floor with the most breathtaking views of the city.  The interiors of the hotel were really cool and modern.  I appreciated the linear lines and the bursts of yellow.  My favorite part of the  room was the compact kitchen with a stove, oven and a drawer style dish washer.  I hope we have this thing in Manila as I really want one for my new place.
.

This was bedroom 1. The views were really nice.

The Sea Princess’ Chinese New Year celebration!

If you have been following my blog, you know that one of my dearest friends in the world is The sea princess!  Otherwise known as Tessa Prieto-Valdes.  She is an example of a life that is truly lived!  I consider her a blessing to my life and to her numerous close friends I am 100% certain that everyone feels the very same. For the past few years, Tessa has been into Feng-Shui and all its permutations so it’s no surprise that she would be all gung-hot in having a Chinese New Year party.

.

Greeting us outside Tessa's house were these amazing Chinese dragons!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR IN CHINA!

I had to run to China to do my sourcing a bit earlier than usual as the Chinese New Year came early this year.   So here I am in freezing China for work and from sunny and clear Australia I am in the cold and the grey of China.  I pray they get to fix the pollution situation as it gets more frightening each time I visit.  Anyway, leave it to me to  see the glass half full!  LOL!  I chose to concentrate on all the colors and pageantry of the Chinese New Year which is arguably the biggest holiday for the entire nation!
.

One thing that you should know about me is that I love WINTER! I must have been an eskimo in my past life!

The Taronga Zoo!

One of the most fascinating things about Australia is the diversity and uniqueness of its wildlife.  The first time I went to Australia, I had the chance to visit the world famous Taronga Zoo http://www.taronga.org.au/ . Located along the Mosman bay area,  this zoo is home to many beautiful animals both indigenous to Australia and some others specially flown in to be taken cared of and brought back to life.

.

I took a quick water taxi to Mosman bay and got another look at the beauty of the Opera house.

MUSE!

What is so impressive about Australia is the elegance of their cuisine!  No wonder the kids in this country cook so well!   Have you seen the show “Junior Master Chef Australia“?  I mean, I was floored when I first saw it and I was like WOW!  They really cook so well!  So I have been really having a great time sampling what this country’s best chefs can offer. Me and my friends were quite lucky to get a table at Muse.  We took the last seating which was fine by my crew.  You can get more information here.  http://www.musedining.com.au/

Hunter Valley day 2!

Our schedule in Hunter Valley centered around 2 things: Our meal reservations and the desire to visit a couple of local vineyards.  You can just imagine how hectic our schedule was! LOL!  Kidding!  It was really all about pure relaxation, no schedules and we just played slaves to the rhythm.  We woke up late and lounged at the pool and then got just in time to our lunch appointment at Legends which did not look legendary at all!  LOL!

.

Woke up and after brekky, spent a few hard hours working here! LOL!

Off to Hunter Valley!

Australia has some of the best wines that I have ever experienced!  My friends and I wanted a bit of chill time after all the New Year’s debauchery, so we all headed to the famous Hunter Valley of NSW!  It’s actually just a 2 hour drive out of the city but it certainly provided the needed quiet and respite from all the partying that we have been doing.
.

We had a final brekky before heading out! Robby sadly had to fly back home. See you soon my darling!

A perfect day at Bondi Beach!

When the weather is this beautiful, everyone in Sydney heads to the beach!  One of the most popular beaches in Sydney is Bondi beach and since we wanted to have a chill and lazy day on the beach, that is exactly where we headed.  I guess almost half of Sydney’s citizens thought about the very same thing as the beach was PACKED!    There were so many people there that we hardly saw the sand but rather hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
.

Check out the amount of people behind us on the beach?! Incredible!
