Patrice’s Evening Bags and Cuffs!

Friday, December 4th, 2009

My very talented friend Patrice Ramos-Diaz just delivered her beautiful evening bags and cuffs  to my store!  I think they make the perfect presents!  I love the fact that all the materials that she used for the collection are all Philippine sourced, from the lizard and snake skins, shells, wood and even the metal work, everything was done in our Islands!

KITSCHY!

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

I am currently obsessing about KITSCHY RINGS! It’s the perfect antidote to those days that seem BLAH & YUCKY. When it comes to my own personal jewelry, I am very much of a minimalist, but when it comes to women, I love the idea of collecting. I think I will be stocking up on these funny rings in my store soon. I just need to find them!  LOL!

My Newest Find!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

I always get so excited when I meet young artisans. It’s like I want to share their talents to the world! From my recent trip to Bangkok, I discovered this brilliant accessories designer. They are actually a design team and they are….I need to take a deep breath… SIRIKARN JIRAJBHASKORNKUL & SUPOT SWUNNASING! Whew! LOL! Their line is called SAPRANG. This season’s collection is very romantic, but it has a real edge to it. The collection reminds me of fairy jewelry.

I brought a couple of limited pieces home to share with all of you! Please come visit the House of Laurel (Please call 028955688 loc. 808 and look for Cara or Lay for more information.) You must  try them on! You will be pleasantly surprised to find out how really affordable the line is. My favorite piece is the petal cocktail ring, I love the way it moves as you gesture!

Celestina Home!

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

I am a HUGE fan of Celestina.  If I were a woman, I would have every piece in her collection.  LOL!  Celestina’s designer is my dear friend Tina Maristela-Ocampo.  She is my style ICON!  I am very, very proud of her.  When I heard that she was doing a home collection, my heart started to beat faster, as Celestina’s aesthetic flows seamlessly to home design.  I received my invitation to preview the home collection and to take a peek at the Fall/Winter collection.

This is Tina Maristela-Ocampo. One of the most stylish women I know.

They decided to do the previews in the stunning home of Mr. Ferdie Ong.  OMG!  His house is so beautiful!  When I walked in, I did not want to leave!  It was SUBLIME!  The home collection was STUNNING!  Each piece was more covetable than the next!  I was salivating over a small table that looked like it was standing on branches.  I wanted to place an order right then and there, but they did not have the prices up yet, so I decided to wait.

My photos do not do justice to the beauty of Celestina’s designs.  You just have to touch it and feel it in your hands to realize how beautiful this Philippine design star really is.  Congratulations to my friends Rico and TIna!  I know that this new home line will rock the world!

When I walked in I was so happy to see my dear pals. Junie Rodriquez and PJ Pascual!

FAME: Part 1!

Friday, April 17th, 2009

This is part one of my Manila FAME series. I decided to break it down into parts because I wanted to make my entries more cohesive.  There were so many fantastic items of display that if I were a woman, I would probably have had a nervous breakdown!  LOL!

To be honest , there were really only a few standout designs that really excited me, but these few were really exceptional!  Take a look and  be mesmerized!

From the minute that I saw this piece I was like WHOA! Thats FABULOUS! However I thought my GOD that must be heavy! But as I picked it up I was really surprised at how light it was! The details are just GORGEOUS! I loved this piece in fact this was one of the nominees for the best fashion accessories award.

This neck piece is made from black nylon garter and crystals! I originally thought that it was the straps of this gown but it was actually a neck piece. I liked it! I like how the industrial and the refined complemented each other. I found this at the Sebina booth. They were showcasing materials made from pine apple and bamboo!

I found the products of ISH fashion Accessories really promising! I adored how the designer used computer chips or mother boards for her pieces. I automatically nominated them for the Eco-luxury category. ISH is also a cubu based company with Ms. Mary Karen Woolbright as the chief designer.

I liked this bag! Its a reworked basket with an attached canvas body/handle. Its from Baguio and although simple I thought it had a really strong commercial appeal. Its made by the Mayat-an handicrafts company.

Citem asked a friend of mine to assist some of the companies as a consultant. Fashion designer Robie Lolin created this neckpiece. I liked the play on the blue colors with the wood base. Very chic with a gentle nod to Marni.

The Gem Palace!

Friday, February 6th, 2009

When I announced on Facebook that I was going to be in Jaipur, I received several messages from people that I have to visit The Gem Palace!  Peolple like jewelry designer Candy Dizon, luxury aficionado Ingrid Go, and international accessories designer Rafe Totengco.  I HAD TO GO!  LOL.

The store is located on one of the major streets of Jaipur called “M I” road. The facade is nothing to write home about, but when I stepped in….I was like WOW! The place was established in 1854.  Lining the printed walls were photos and letters from its illustrious past and present.  I felt like I was in a sacred place,,,, I mean these people did the jewelry of the DUCHESS OF WINDSOR!!!!  OMG!!!

That is just the tip of the ice cream sundae, so to speak!  I was thinking of taking them to Manila and sharing it with all of you! What do you think?

The facade of the place is so unassuming and quite simple.

The interiors were very European, very English really. However, the closer you get you realize that it's Indian, like the cotton blocked printed walls.

I counted more that 7 cars in his garage! They are really beautiful!
