Rome is called the eternal city! I think it is called that because it takes an eternity to see and really appreciate what this city really has to offer. For this trip, we only had 3 nights! So we really had to choose a few places and narrow this down. We were fortunate to have my dear friend Ernest Escaler, in town because he really knows Rome, thus, making it easy to navigate around this beautiful city! This entry is all about the “best” of Rome! The best coffee, the best gelato, even the best truffle pasta which was in season when we were there! Enjoy the photos!

Rome probably has the best collection of amazing churches! We stopped by one church that had this incredible ceiling!

Ernest told us to stop by here and take a look at this painting. I believe it is by Caravagio? I am not 100% sure now but the way the light was used was mind boggling!

I fell in love with how the marble was used! I kept on staring at it because I want it as a print on a fabric. Either that or a wall interest in my future dream house.

Ernest Escaler and Malu at the best coffee shop in Italy!

This is where the best Italian coffee can be experienced! Cafe San Eustachio!

The frenzy inside.

Our coffee! It had this creamy-like consistency that was like a thick foam of pure coffee essence. Ernest has been coming here for years and has been trying to figure our how it is done. To this day, it remains a puzzle.

Ernest poses with our coffee.

Ernest, Malu and I loving our coffee!

We then visited the Pantheon.

NIx and I in front of the Pantheon.

The architectural dome was so beautiful!

I had to take this shot! I did this shot years ago and it still is fun to do today.

Inside the Pantheon.

The plaza in front of the church.

Men with bikes are really the height of cool!

We then had lunch at this place called Da Fortunato.

Old world service with really amazing Italian cuisine! Our servers preparing some steak tartar and pasta with fresh white truflles!

This was so good! A light crepe with a mushroom filling covered with a light cream sauce! It was to die for!

Thumbs up indeed!

My favorite carchiofi was in season and i had it Roman style!

Malu had to have her fried Zuchini blossoms!

One fabulous fresh ball of mozarella! So simple yet so divine!

Fresh asparagus grilled and then topped with oil and cheese!

Grilled portobello mushrooms!

We had to have another serving of the pasta with the truffles!

Check out how gigantic this truffle is!

I had to pose with it! LOL! They were so generous with the truffles! I LOVE IT!

My plate!

Malu with our waiter who was really so sweet!

When in Rome get a table here!

Christmas was already in the air!

Had to have some Gelatto! This is arguably the best place to get it in Roma! GIOLITTI, any given hour or day has a line for this place!

I love how nothing changes here.

Is NIx happy or what? LOL!

Rome's version of the typewriter! LOL! Really so majestic!
