GOURMET FARMS!

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

One of my life mentors is Mr. Ernest Escaler. He is a brilliant and generous human being. He is also one amazing business man. He has influenced me in many ways just by being around him. I just want to share with you his new website  which will explain how for many years he has been an advocacy of organic farming and a healthy way of life.
.
Apart from his many projects, he is also the chairman of The Asian Cultural Council which I am a board member of. I wanted to share this with all my readers because I think it is a good thing.  Take a look at his website and let me know your thoughts. Have fun!

When in ROME!

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

Rome is called the eternal city!  I think it is called that because it takes an eternity to see and really appreciate what this city really has to offer.  For this trip, we only had 3 nights!  So we really had to choose a few places and narrow this down.  We were fortunate to have my dear friend Ernest Escaler, in town because he really knows Rome,  thus, making it easy to navigate around this beautiful city!  This entry is all about the “best” of Rome!  The best coffee, the best gelato, even the best truffle pasta which was in season when we were there!  Enjoy the photos!

Rome probably has the best collection of amazing churches! We stopped by one church that had this incredible ceiling!

Ernest told us to stop by here and take a look at this painting. I believe it is by Caravagio? I am not 100% sure now but the way the light was used was mind boggling!

I fell in love with how the marble was used! I kept on staring at it because I want it as a print on a fabric. Either that or a wall interest in my future dream house.

THE ACCP AUCTION!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

This weekend for me was all about art and culture!  It all began with the setting up of our Asian Cultural Council of the Philippines (ACCP) Art Auction!  This was the very first time that we putting something like this up so we were all very anxious and exctied!  The whole event was quite difficult to mount but all these challenges are really super worth it as the benefits are really immeasurable.

We had the auction at the Finale Art Gallery! I love this space! I want to live there! LOL!

THIS IS IT!

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

I am so excited to blog about this because I am probably the only blogger who has behind the scene shots of the recent Michael Jackson tribute video done by the Cebu inmates!   I am quite sure that if you’re able to read my blog you know what I am talking about!  I mean it has like a gazillion hits on Youtube!

Well now the inmates have gone several levels up by having the choreographer  Travis Payne and principal dancers Dreis Reed and Daniel Celebre teaching them and showing them the moves!    I was so fortunate to actually see the video before it was released, the best part about it were the cool stories and photos that led to this magnificent historical event.

An Evening with Ernest!

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I recently had the opportunity to have dinner with Mr. Ernest Escaler. He is one of my personal idols and I was more than happy to comply to his invitation. The dinner was in honor of our friends Artus Concepcion and his partner Jonathan Richter. They are spending the holidays in the Philippines.

Ernest is our Chairman of the Asian Cultural Council. I sit on the board and he has really influenced my thoughts on philanthropy and art appreciation. He prepared a sumptuous meal composed of ingredients that he grew himself! How many of us can say that? After the meal, he toured us around his beautiful home filled with the most incredible art. I really enjoyed the evening, as it was one of those super intimate dinners. Hope you’re all doing well!

We started the evening by enjoying the cool breeze of the Philippine december air. I wish it was the weather was always this agreeable.
