I have a confession to make! I failed on my goal to not consume any alcohol for a week! You would think that I could go with out drink for 7 days but on the the 5th day I gave in! LOL! I was doing already so well and then my dear friend from Canada was visiting and I hosted a dinner for him! I felt guilty for a like a few hours and then decided to give it another go this week! Anyway let me tell you what I did over the weekend.
Leica Carpo came in my office for a final meeting on her wedding gown and entourage before I start production! My muse and dearest friend will be getting married in 4 months and I need to start on this ASAP! After our productive meeting she invited me to a furniture store opening in Greenbelt 5. The store is simply called INTERIORS! I really think my Mom would love this store, it was filled with all the things that she would love! Perhaps if and when she decides to renovate I will take her here.

Bumped into my Fitness guru Wawa Feliciano her husband and the lady who owns the store Mrs. Sally Navarro.

Then we went to have dinner in our “club house” other wise known as CIRCULO! I love it here as it is really like home to me and my friends! What started out as a dinner for six ended to be a full on party for 12! LOL! After dinner and a whole lot of drinks we all decided to head out to REPUBLIQ! Things were seriously happening in the club that night as it was the USHER concert after party! It was a really super fun night that ended up pretty early in the morning! LOL! I promised myself that I really have to lessen my going out and concentrate on a healthier lifestyle and this is my ultimate goal! I know I can do this! Anyhoo here are pictures from my weekend!

Every now and then I get to begin on a project literally from the shoe up! A dear client brought in her fabulous Givenchy jet-black Studded sandals and I just fell in love with it! It really defined what FIERCE was all about! The dress that I came up with was something really soft and super feminine as a paradox to the hardness of the shoe. I just wanted to share this with all of you as it was just too beautiful!

My dear friend and Jewelry designer Candy Dizon is doing this tree planting project and I am more than excited for her! Anything that can help mother earth in her fight to be strong for future generations I am so in! I am encouraging all of you who pass by my blog to come or to do something similar for our earth! Help me save the Earth!
Tree Planting and Nurturing in the Mt. Makiling Forest Reserve (MFR)
in cooperation with Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems.
Generally, this project aims to reforest an open area in MFR
Specifically, it aims to:
1) Plant 1,000 indigenous seedlings in Year 2010;
2) Serve as a show window/demonstration area of a successful tree planting project;
3) Contribute in climate change mitigation; and
4) Improve the ecological balance and environmental condition of the area.
Ayala land allocated 4,000 square meters for this tree planting and I need 100 participants who will help me in this project.
P750.00/person entitles you to 10 seedlings, bus transportation (meeting place to follow) breakfast and lunch.

I am soooo SAD! I accidentally dropped my Blackberry phone in a pool of water while having a foot spa! It was working fine for a couple of hours but it soon died! My service provider is going to try to have it fixed and in the mean time theywill be giving me an I-phone for a replacement. I love my Black Berry and I am not familiar with the I-phone so I am a bit worried. I am not too great with these gadgets because it takes my a while to get used to these things! I miss my BlackBerry so much! Its only been 30 hours since it died and I feel really bad! I got this email today and it made me smile just a little. Hope that it makes you smile too!

I just want to announce to all of you that I am a NINONG once again to a gorgeous baby girl named Gabriana Laurel-Hermano. My sister Venisse just gave birth a few days ago and Gabby now makes Venisse the proud mother of 3 beautiful girls.
This is our new angel. Gabriana Laurel-Hermano!

Gabby was born by C-section as she was quite big and long. Almost weighing in at 8 pounds! She has a really full head of hair very similar to me when I was born.
She is absolutely perfect!!!!
Nix and I visited Venisse in the hospital and I was so amazed that she was already walking around! It was incredible that her doctor allowed her to go home only after 2 days! Venisse can’t sleep at hospitals so she insisted to go home so she can get some rest. I am just so ecstatic to share the good news with all of you!!
Nix and the super precocious Alix! She is only 4 but her vocabulary is like that of a 35 year old! LOL!
Gabriana already knows how to emote!
She also knows how to make taray and irap! LOL!
She even gave me a bit of wink! I love how these girls are going to make my life so meaningful! Welcome to the world GABBY!

I recently was invited to a really interesting event sponsored by HSBC. It is called Coffee talk, this is in conjunction with their partnership with starbucks coffee. Meaning with each 2000 pesos you spend using your HSBC credit card you get your cup of JAVA from Starbucks! How awesome is that?
This is part 2 already of their coffee talk and this time the topic was FASHION! Actually it was like fashion and a bit of politics but Fashion can be more fun! They invited my dear friends Tessa Valdes, Robby Carmona, Mich Dulce and Romina Urra-Gonzales to be in the panel to discuss the state of fashion worn by the leaders of our land!
Got in the shang and bumped into the moderator of the event RJ Ledesma wearing a similar violet gingham shirt! I LOVE IT!!!!

CINEMALAYA is opening this weekend! I look forward to this each year as I love watching movies. The whole Film Festival is more than a week long and there are so many wonderful things to see, I myself will definitely schedule a couple of nights next week for this. The amount of talent we have in the cinema world is astounding and we all must do our share in supporting these artists! Come to CINEMALAYA! See you there!

My darling friend and Internationally famous designer/co-blogger Rafe Totengco is in town! Naturally we had to celebrate his arrival with a “Robouchon” worthy dinner care of Reggie Jacinto-Barrientos. Let me tell you that I was super duper impressed with her staffs skills of whipping out a really beautiful dinner! Everything was so lovely and flawless!

We started having some bubbly and a few nibbles in Reggie's beautiful living room.
Loving the new pieces of art in the house. This metal relief work was very dramatic.
The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed and we all had a grand time catching up and just exchanging memories and current gossip. I had the chance to blog about Reggie’s home before and I am so excited to come back and see the subtle changes. Mostly beautiful paintings and a few sculptures. Rafe is always such a joy to be with because he has such a great heart and a wicked sense of humor! Here are some photos from that lovely dinner!

I pride myself in having the best team in the world! I love my House of Laurel team because they are not just employees. To me they are my family! We see each other day in and day out often longer than we see our own immediate family so in many ways the bonding we have at work translates in my mind as what families are all about.
I was super excited to find out that we would be all here for the Preview Best dressed ball! Last year we could not make it because we all were in Tokyo. However this year we would be present and in full force! I decided to use my infamous insect collection as a starting point for our homage to the late Alexander McQueen. His bold use of cut and graphic detail was perfect for this. I then asked everyone to choose a dress from the collection and we all made them. The make up would be done by my sister Gela and I wanted to have this graphic quality to it. So we used heavy black paint to color block our faces. LOL!
This was the make up peg that I quickly sketched out for the team.
