I had a really hectic but enjoyable weekend! I was part of the very first Martha Stewart WEDDINGS bridal fair! I have not joined a bridal fair in over a decade, and I am glad that I was invited to join this one. It was great to see a lot of our “bridal” colleagues in action. The creative juices were really flowing in the fair. I had a really superb time looking at novel “tablescapes” and flower arrangements.
The overall theme of the event was “It’s all in the details”. This was really the perfect foil to showcase the various talents of so many bridal suppliers, and I was so impressed with how the industry has grown!
They invited me to give a talk about bridal gowns and this was nerve wracking but actually fun. I would just like to congratulate the organizers of the fair, as it’s not an easy task to put one of these up! Enjoy the photos!
- This was my booth! I wanted to have a simple and homey kind of feel. In fact, most of the stuff here actually came from my bridal fitting room and my apartment! LOL!
- Sony was kind enough to lend me their super huge flat screen TV! I really love SONY! Thank you!
- I was in the fair before 8am on Saturday and I noticed Margarita “Gaita” Fores in action! This woman is a workaholic! I love her energy and her passion. She even painted the walls of her booth herself!
- Gaita has not branched out to flowers apart from her amazing food, but I am responding very, very well to her arrangements. There is this organic elegance to them that makes one swoon!
- Gaita proudly shows me her teapot!
Another talented workaholic was there as well: Amina Aranaz-Alunan! Here she is showing me the bag which is on the cover of the latest Martha Stewart wedding magazine! The bag is so pretty!
This is the tablescape for the Manila Peninsula. I like the simplicity of the setup!
This tablescape was done by the Martha Stewart team! It's so refreshing! I want to have one of these settings for like a Sunday brunch! LOL!
They even created a gazebo of sorts!
This is the set up of Kai. Modern Japanese! I really like their style!
Bizu came out with a really cool booth too!
This is Rita Neri, a pioneer in the wedding industry! I met her when I was starting and she was really kind to help me out! I often call on her for advice. Thank you RITA!
Margarita gave a talk on being a gracious host that afternoon. I gingerly waited for her talk as she truly is one of the most stylish ladies I know!
Gaita barely had a voice that day as she hardly had any sleep! I mean, this woman is really a phenomenon! What a trooper!
My ANGELS! Matet and Anj. They were manning my booth the whole weekend and they were the team behind the project. I could not have done it without them. Thank you for giving up your weekend!
These precious mini cupcakes were done by my friend SONJA! She really has the sweetest cupcakes in the city!
Tata Mapa is the editor in chief of Martha Stewart Wedding Philippines! She is really a trooper - she had a bit of an accident prior to the event, thus she was in a wheel chair, but she was still there the whole day! That is what I call a PRO! Congratulations Tata! GOOD JOB!
The event was really a major success! Check out the long line to register and enter the fair!
My long time friends Tara and Marco Santos were also there!
Bride and groom to be...Migs Romero and Isabel Roces were there to check out the fair! So happy for you guys!
My good friends from High School were there too! That's Arnold, Dustin and JG Andaya with my godson Armand in tow. They bring you the BEST roses in the land! Check them out at islandrose.com! For me, they had the best booth! LOL!
Island Rose's beautiful blooms!
I love this color!
I wanted to take all of these beautiful bouquets home! They were like candy!
Here I am giving my bridal talk! I was a bit nervous, but I think I did OK! LOL!
This was my audience! Thank you for listening to my talk.
After my talk, I helped out a few brides with their gowns! It felt really good to help them!
