My gift to Nix!
Friday, December 30th, 2011NIX’s BIRTHDAY in ROMA!
Monday, November 22nd, 2010We arrived in Rome and went straight to our hotel called Crossing Condotti www.crossingcondotti.com. I really loved the entire hotel! I mean, it only had like 5 or 6 rooms and the location was a dream! A stone’s throw away from the Spanish Steps and a couple of meters away from the major shopping streets of Rome! You really could not ask for anything more!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIX!
Sunday, November 21st, 2010My partner Nix, had a really special and incredible birthday this year! He celebrated it in 3 countries! LOL! After the wedding, we drove by Aix and then ended up in Nice! ( Both places are in France). Then we had his ‘salubong” dinner in Monaco which was just 3o minutes away from Nice. The restaurant was really nice and quite fancy as jackets were required. Then we flew out to Rome, Italy and had another celebration! Now tell me how cool is that?

En route to Nice, we had lunch at Aix. We were so happy as the sun was out! You can only imagine how much I miss the sun. Traveling around Europe in the fall, you risk the weather being grey and rainy so the sun was a welcome change.
The restaurant in Monaco was called the Automobile Club. It was a members only club that has a really great vibe. According to our friend that invited us, the Prince of Monaco comes here often. I really liked the place as it had this old world feel to it. A time when women wore gloves and dressed up for dinner. We had an incredible meal comprised of giant prawns and a huge sole cooked in butter! LOL!
BENCH/UNCUT part 3!
Monday, July 5th, 2010The last part of the segment was from Russia! This time Bench tapped the designer Michael Cinco to design the clothes and costumes for this part of the show. Michael Cinco is very famous for his use of beautiful crystals and I for one was so excited to see his show for the first time! The segment opened with some high priests and then some real Russian (ballerina) dancers who were a bit weak for me, but none the less they looked great!

then some Ballerinas came in.

Looking at this just makes me hungry!

The quaint interiors! They open late till 3am!

- Nix ready to dive in! LOL!

- Our lovely Margaritas

- Cheers!

This was a bit hard to eat! Double fried chicken skin with a ton of oil! Avoid this at all cost if you wish to live longer! LOL! I am sure it tastes great but it will clog up your arteries big time!

A yummy and healthy alternative, a grilled fish taco.

This is their regular burrito! It was nicely done.

THE TIPPLING CLUB
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010When I was planning my trip to Singapore, I asked my friends for some tips on what is new and what is cool to do. A lot of them told me that I should try the Tippling Club. It is a what I would describe as a Gastro-Pub/restaurant/food laborarory. I was checked out their website www.tipplingclub.com and I got really excited and booked a table. I asked my dear friend Scho Parpan-Richardson to join us. I have known Scho for more than 10 years and she is really one of my favorite girls in the planet!

I like the graphics they use.
Birthday Dinner!
Thursday, May 20th, 2010We met up with my Korean friend Justin Chul for dinner! Since it was my birthday I wanted it to be kind of special. Since we had already Korean for Lunch I was in the mood for something western. Earlier in the day I was enthralled by this beautiful store called ELBON.

This is ELBON. The address system in Korea is kind messed up so I suggest that you check their website out for more details. www.elbon.co.kr
The concept of the store was that it was divided into 3 parts. The Style which concentrated on beautiful shoes and bags. The Garden which was a roof top cocktail area and The Table which was a restaurant. The whole place oozed with chic and elan! I wanted to have dinner there.

The entrance.

ELBON=NOBLE spelled backwards, Their tagline is "for the noble in you" NAKS!
The experience was really lovely as the place was so elegant and beautifully designed. The food too looked really good but it lacked flavor and punch. My friend Justin Chul said that the Chef and the team were so young and fresh from culinary school. Meaning the food looked good and was done pretty well but it tasted very technical and boxed in. It lacked a certain kind of soul to it. None the less I had a really great time.

The open kitchen with a very young team!

The chef's uniform was looking pretty cool!

The breads were really yummy, I also liked the oil decanters.

NIx and I loving the lighting in the restaurant.

We started with an octopus and potato pancake. It was promising but it was just ok, not a home run for me.

The soup course was just plain weird It was so sweet that it tasted more like a dessert to me.

We had a beautiful looking sea food pasta that came next.

Our server presented us with a variety of salts that would enliven our main dish. there was mustard salt, rose salt, truffle salt, green tea salt and one more that I forgot. Honestly thought they kinda tasted all the same! LOL! Maybe my palette is not that sensitive?

I had a nice steak which was very tender. It was a good thing that I liked my main course. LOL!

NIx had the baby lamb and chicken combination.

This is my friend Justin Chul! He was so nice to take me and Nix out on our first night in Seoul.

Wire floral decorations in the hall way of ELBON.

The young chef who was kind of cute! LOL!

Famous pala sha?
We headed out for some drinks after in a very hip bar called MIX. There were so many cool looking people that I could not help but people watch, I adore observing people in new places and soaking up how they dress and how they put things together. This process is really inspiring for me. I cannot wait to see more of this exciting city.

Ended in this cool bar called MIX, it was nice!

It was a great way to celebrate my birthday! Here I am making Chul try my apple martini which was so yummy!

Leica’s Wedding Meeting 1
Monday, May 10th, 2010My dear friend/muse Leica Carpo is getting married this year and I, for one, am so excited for this! We recently had our first “bridal”meeting in my studio and had so much fun in choosing her colors and theme.

Nix joined our meeting and all of them tried on some hats that we will be giving out to the guests. Just the ladies of course! LOL!
Outlet Adventure!
Sunday, March 28th, 2010One of best thing about America is their OUTLET malls! They have the best deals and really the best merchandise! I love outlet shopping because just like everyone I love a good deal! My cousin was kind enough to take a day off and take Nix and I all the way to CABAZON! The last time we went there it was really good! This time it was not that great, but it was fun just the same. I found a great pear of jeans, which is impossible for me to find in Asia because I have a Western body! LOL! ( In other words….BIG SIZES!!! LOL!)
