Te Amarre’ por Siempre!

Monday, March 8th, 2010
Te Amare por Siempre ( I will Love you Forever)  is the title of the short art film that was created by  Jujiin Samonte and Shahani Gania for my Spring-Summer collection 2010 launch.  Jujiin and Shahani got in touch with me early this year wanting to collaborate on a film project.  I am a HUGE fan of Jujiin and Shahani and was more than willing to participate in anything that they wanted to do.  We met several times and to discuss about the film that they would be doing and when they asked me what I wanted to do, I just looked at them straight in the eye and said.  I have only two parameters for the film, just make sure that you LOVE what you come up with and stay within the budget!  LOL!

I am the type of designer that actually works better with out restrictions and I wanted to give them the liberty to create what they wanted.  I showed them them my inspirations, my drawings , some of the samples and  from there they ran with it!   They brought in Paolo Castro to assist in the film making and  RCXY to style the clothes in the film.

I have only produced a film once in 2001.  I forgot how complicated creating a film could be. There were so many elements to consider but I am very fortunate that I have wonderful allies and friends that continually support all my crazy ideas and projects. Please indulge me in thanking these people one by one for without them the film would not have been possible.

KAWAYAN COVE!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010
I am seriously considering spending my weekends now in the beach! Nix and I are such beach lovers that every opportunity we have, we try to escape and head out to the beach.

This weekend we were so fortunate to have been invited by our girl friends to spend some time with them. We all decided that we would spend the whole day in Kawayan Cove.

I remembered the cove from when we were younger but it was called Bamboo Beach.  It was the best beach in the area and the cove is now one of the most chic weekend escapes! I am responding so positively to the whole aesthetic of the development.  Everything is so tasteful. I LOVE IT!

My skin is in dire need of nourishment and moisture! LOL! I am really not a super vain person but I want to age well and not be some dried up prune in my old age.

My dear friend Eddy Fung is a purveyor of all things that makes one look 10 years younger! For Christmas he gave Nix and I some collagen products that he swears by. I have not tried it our myself but I am really excited to see the outcome.

BORACAY BABY!

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Greetings from PARADISE!

I am attending a wedding and I decided to make a get-away weekend out of it.  Boracay for me still has the most amazing beach!  Each time I get to go I am like awed by the beauty of this place.  Each time I come to Boracay I stay at the Discovery Shores!  I feel so happy there because the staff treat me so well and I really feel like its my second home!  The weather is  absolutely fantastic!  Nix and I cannot  not wait to get some sun.  It was a really fun trip filled with lots of cool friends and copious amounts of alcohol! LOL!

Enough talk enjoy the photos!

When we arrived in the room we received a really cool gift from Discovery Shores! A yummy chocolate cake with a dress on it! I recognized the dress as I did something like that from my shapes collection! LOL! It's touches like these that make staying in Discovery Shores so worth it!

EL COCTEL!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010
The great thing about Shanghai is that each time I go and visit my friends take me to their most recent finds.  This time Bob took me to his favorite bar called EL COCTEL!  It’s a Spanish-themed bar with  a very good gin and tonic!  LOL!  I am a gin and tonic kind of guy so this place really made me happy!
The interiors were very warm and cozy with an eclectic groove.  I loved the ceiling wall paper design, and the wall divider decorated with martini shakers was really cool!
The warm and cozy interiors an eclectic mix of Asian and Spanish influences. Hey that sounds very Pinoy to me! LOL!

New Years in Shanghai

Monday, January 4th, 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!  Greetings from Shanghai!  Nix and I decided to skip town and get some literal chill time ( The temp reading is 3 degrees!  LOL!) in Shanghai!  We love Shanghai as we have lots of friends there and we just really needed to escape!  We took the evening flight of Cebu Pacific which was incredibly priced and arrived ahead of schedule!  We then decided to have drinks with Robby Carmona who also flew into Shanghai for the New Year’s celebration!

While waiting for our boarding we had some coffee and water at Bo's coffee. I really like their bottle water packaging. Very nice! I just think that they should make the seating in their Terminal 3 branch more cozy. They would do better business if they made it feel like a cafe and not just a bunch of chairs and tables scattered about with out much thought.

This is the view outside our bedroom! The day was delightfully clear, a bit rare now in Chinese Cities because of the dreadful pollution but the new years eve is starting to look really nice!

Great news for the New Year!

This just came in my inbox from my dear dear friend Malu Gamboa!  For those of you planning to drink some champagne…I say GO AHEAD and enjoy!  The calories are worth it!  LOL!

Happy New Year!

A celebration just isn’t a celebration without a glass of bubbly, but if you’re watching your weight, you may want to keep tabs on alcohol consumption. One serving of one glass equal to 120 ml contains 89 calories as well as 0.4 percent protein and 1.6 percent carbohydrates. (Source: http://www.livestrong.com/article/65987-calories-champagne/?utm_source=decnewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=091229)

That’s 556 calories per 750ml bottle! Not bad, right? :-)

Wishing you more blessings and looking forward to more great times with you in 2010!
