A recent TREASURE!

I have been collecting American Vogue since I was 12 years old. I would save my allowance, skip recess and sometimes lunch just so that I could buy the magazine. I am very proud of my collection and it has a special place in my library! I have been collecting for more than 20 years now and I am quite complete with all the issues.

One day, during one of my meetings in my library, stylist Shahani Gania started freaking out about one issue! Apparently I have a rare copy of one of the first issues of American Vogue edited by Anna Wintour! The issue was dated November 1988, I had just started my year as an exchange student in Maryland. After that year I  enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Te Amarre’ por Siempre!

Te Amare por Siempre ( I will Love you Forever)  is the title of the short art film that was created by  Jujiin Samonte and Shahani Gania for my Spring-Summer collection 2010 launch.  Jujiin and Shahani got in touch with me early this year wanting to collaborate on a film project.  I am a HUGE fan of Jujiin and Shahani and was more than willing to participate in anything that they wanted to do.  We met several times and to discuss about the film that they would be doing and when they asked me what I wanted to do, I just looked at them straight in the eye and said.  I have only two parameters for the film, just make sure that you LOVE what you come up with and stay within the budget!  LOL!

Cool Visitors!

I love it when really cool people visit me in my studio!  It creates an atmosphere of fun and creativity that instantly sparks inspiration.
Today I was visited by two sets of people.  Both on almost opposite sides of the spectrum, one pop and commercial and the other avant-garde and very independent.  The great thing about all of this is that both sets came at the same time!  I love it when this happens.
The first set of people was Shahani Gania and Jujiin Samonte.  How can one describe these two?  I would say marvelous mavericks.  They came to me with a brilliant idea that will be kept a secret until it is time to be known. LOL!

EXHIBIT No. ONE

I am so looking forward to the exhibit of Jujiin Samonte on January 29 at the Trilogy boutique!  I have always been a great fan and admirer of Jujiin’s work and I cannot wait to see what he and collaborator Shahani Gania have cooked up in their delicious minds!

I have worked with Jujiin before and he always never ceases to amaze me!  Jujiin has this amazingly original aesthetic that really inspires me.
