I feel a bit bad that I am so delayed in posting this entry! Blame it on the fact that I have a gazillion things on my plate. I am not complaining, I am very fortunate to be busy but I wish I had more time to blog and more time to share with you all the fun and crazy things that I have been doing.

So now back to the entry!

Tim Yap is one of my dearest and closest friends! He is one of those people that really makes things happen and his boundless energy, not to mention his extreme positivity are both intoxicating and delicious. When Tim throws a party, it becomes a real event. He is able to get that perfect mix of people that makes the party really memorable.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!!! Hope you’re all starting the Lunar new year right by eating Tikoy and wearing bright colors! It has been our gang’s tradition to usher in the new year with our sea princess Tessa Valdes! She has been hosting the Chinese new years festivities at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Manila for several years now and we, her friends, join her in the celebration!

This year is actually Tessa’s year as she is born on the year of the Rabbit. This year is all about romance and love! How exciting! Mandarin Oriental Manila really gave us a spectacular evening starting out with a blessing ceremony on Ayala avenue and then the most amazing firework display created by Enchanted Kingdom which lit up the Makati skyline for which seem like forever!

We all then went to the main ball room for an 8 course yummy lauriat that filled our bodies with lucky food! There were also lots of Moet Champagne flowing, making everyone really happy! Tessa and Tim hosted the evening, in between raffle prizes and Chinese dancers from the Ling Nnam group. Nix was extra lucky because he won VIP tickets to Ballet Philippines Don Quixote! YAAAY! There were lots of prizes given away that night, even a trip to Sanya, China!

The night ended up in the wee hours of the morning with our lucky books and lucky red parcels! Thank you my Sea Princess for having us and to Mandarin Oriental Manila…Congratulations! The party was fantastic! Now I am fully ready and prepared to lead a prosperous year of the Rabbit! KUNG HEI FAT CHOI!!!!!

The Tim Yap Deck of CARDS!

The souvenir from Tim Yap’s party was a fabulous deck of cards that Divine Lee created exclusively for the party! Only 200 decks were produced thus becoming instantly a collector’s item! The images were captured by the great Marc Nicdao! The graphic design was done by David Milan and the characters in the cards were all of Tim Yap’s dear friends! A selection of these cards I have added here in my blog entry! We all tried to portray various Las Vegas images like Divine Lee as a Las Vegas show girl and Jenni Epperson as a magician or Robby Carmona as a Japanese high stakes gambler! All in all, it was a real treat to be part of this special project! I for one was so tickled to play the king with a touch of LIBERACE thrown in for good measure! Again happy happy birthday to our dear Tim Yap! Another wonderful year filled with adventure and happiness!

Tim Yap’s Vegas Birthday Bash!

I always look forward to my friend Tim Yap’s birthday! Every year, he comes up with the most amazing concepts and parties that just spell delicious fun! This year’s theme was Las Vegas! He closed down OPUS and invited everyone to a lovely dinner and then had everyone dancing till the wee hours of the morning! Tim Yap, in my opinion, is the modern day SUPER HERO! He has boundless energy, super positive attitude and whatever he touches literally turns to GOLD! In fact he actually sang GOLD that night while 200 hundred plus friends of his cheered him on!

The whole evening was really amazing! Everyone was super happy and there was this positive energy in the air! Very much like the man himself. I would just like to greet Tim Yap a happy birthday and I am really so very proud of him and all his achievements! I know that there is still so much for Tim to reach and we, his friends, are just here to cheer him on and support him in all his goals and dreams! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM! WE ALL LOVE YOU!

Chef Carlo Miguel of OPUS created a beautiful menu! I started with a Salad of grilled asparagus crisp proscuito and slow cooked egg with toasted sour dough and creamy Parmesan dressing! It was so delicious!

Some of us had another salad of spice crusted tuna carpaccio, grilled squid and chorizo with romesco dressing. I had this at a previous dinner in OPUS and it was really a winner!

Giorgina and Belle just amplified the beauty level in the party to a maximum height! I love these girls!

We then had a Quail and bacon ravioli with mushrooms, leaks and truffle foam! It was nice in between break before the main course!

The Chef Carlo Miguel! He is my Biggest loser idol! I want to be as fit as he is, so help me GOD!

This was my main course! The beef rib sous-vide with truffle macaroni and cheese! I had a taste of the mac and cheese and decided that it was too sinful for me! I do have a goal this year! LOL! The beef was really flavorful, however, it was more tender the last time I had dinner in OPUS.

I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!

I am very proud to present to you the short film that was created for my Spring/Summer 2010 collection. It is called ”Te Amarre’ Para Siempre.” I do hope that all of you enjoy it as it is done with so much passion, hard work and above all, LOVE! LOVE for me is the greatest emotion! A big shout out of thanks to Tim for taking the time out to give us a full page in the Philippine Star last Saturday! Thank you Tim! We all really appreciate it! Enjoy the film!

THE ACCP AUCTION!

This weekend for me was all about art and culture! It all began with the setting up of our Asian Cultural Council of the Philippines (ACCP) Art Auction! This was the very first time that we putting something like this up so we were all very anxious and exctied! The whole event was quite difficult to mount but all these challenges are really super worth it as the benefits are really immeasurable.

We had the auction at the Finale Art Gallery! I love this space! I want to live there! LOL!

“W” Trunk Show!

I am still on this magical high from yesterday, so forgive me if I ramble a bit in this post!

Yesterday was our official launch of my “W” line for Wharton! I decided to have a trunk show instead of a fashion show because I wanted an immediate connection with my customer. I loved the intimacy that I experienced with the clients and I can get immediate feedback on the products so that I can make the next collection better.

When I drove up to the entrance of SM Makati I saw this! LOL! I was like OMG!

BORACAY BABY!

Greetings from PARADISE!

I am attending a wedding and I decided to make a get-away weekend out of it. Boracay for me still has the most amazing beach! Each time I get to go I am like awed by the beauty of this place. Each time I come to Boracay I stay at the Discovery Shores! I feel so happy there because the staff treat me so well and I really feel like its my second home! The weather is absolutely fantastic! Nix and I cannot not wait to get some sun. It was a really fun trip filled with lots of cool friends and copious amounts of alcohol! LOL!

When we arrived in the room we received a really cool gift from Discovery Shores! A yummy chocolate cake with a dress on it! I recognized the dress as I did something like that from my shapes collection! LOL! It's touches like these that make staying in Discovery Shores so worth it!
