Weekend ESCAPE!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

I love these long weekends!  The timing could not have been made more perfect as I really…..really needed to get away from the city!  I have been hearing from friends about Zambales.  I have never been there, and since it’s only a three-hour drive, I decided to go!  I went with the Magsaysay girls (Carla and Tin). I knew that this would be the perfect weekend escape!  There was nothing on the agenda, just lots of sun and sangria!  LOL!

Roadtrip! I was really impressed by the northern Luzon expressway ( NLEX) it was smooth driving from Makati all the way to Zambales!

I want to explore this "lahar" zone soon! I hear that they have like treks and all that! I am sure that it would make an impressive photo shoot!

We headed off to the beach after we dropped our bags and on route there were several rural scenes that caught my eye. They reminded me of Amorsolo paintings!

The sand is not as fine and as white as Boracay, but what this beach gives you is complete isolation! I mean that for me is true luxury! The entire place was like ours! I really loved that sense of tranquility.

Hong Kong Hiatus!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

My air miles were going to expire, so Nix and I decided to escape for the weekend.  Hong Kong has always been an easy getaway for me, since it’s only an hour and a half away and I find the place so convenient.  I love the train from the airport to the city. I mean, it takes 12 minutes! All in all, it only takes me a full hour to get out of the airplane and into the city, meaning in less than 3 hours, I feel like I am in another world! LOL!

This being the case, it’s so easy to ask friends to meet up and make the city a virtual playground.  After a few emails and several phone calls, my dear friends decided to join us, and we all had a blast!

I love the efficiency of the Hong Kong, airport express trains, I think its the best deal. They even offer free shuttle service to some hotels. You all must try it

Met up with one of my favorite travel companions...Robby Carmona! Had a quick dimsum brunch at the Silver chord mall in Kowloon. I have been coming to this mall for over 15 years! LOL! I like that it has this street/youth vibe in the stores that are here, it keeps me updated. It also has a really good food court. YUMMERS!
